ways not to spoil your kids

Many times, I am guilty of spoiling my kids. Even if I do not intend to raise them the wrong way, I confess there are some things I do to pamper them more than I should.

So here are my thoughts on some ways not to spoil your own kids. And I want to share these to all of the moms out there who, like me, are finding it hard to strike a balance.

Give them their share of tasks in the house. It will not hurt if you ask your little ones to take care of some things that they can handle like cleaning up their own toys, doing some errands, and the likes. Of course, you have to make sure that these tasks are appropriate to their level, and that you make your instructions comprehensible for your child.

Establish a routine. If the kids know what to do in a particular time, it becomes a habit. And there is a greater chance that they will carry this on till they get older.

Give them just enough… of everything… material things, love, time, patience, understanding. They do not have to get all the best things in life. They also have to learn how to cry and struggle sometimes. Kids will not learn if everything is spoon fed. :)

entered the online world

I am so delighted to notice that my loving :) husband is showing some interests in my online ‘adventures’. He really is not a techie guy, and I am guiding him through the whole learning process. He is a diligent student, if I may say so, and tries to accomplish tasks his ‘teacher’ assigns to him.

And because of this, I thought that it would be wiser for us to invest on another desktop computer so we both can earn money while on our pajamas. :) It would be hard for both of us if we would still have to share with just one computer. And I am so glad that he agreed on that.

Now, he is skimming through some desktop computer reviews so we can choose among the many options. And with this, we have to tighten our budget so we can afford to buy a computer before the end of the year.

Hmmm, maybe when the kids get a little older, we can also teach them how to earn money online.

new car

Just last month, we bought a new SUV. It feels nice to know that the kids are traveling more comfortably now. But after a while, I was having some kind of regrets about this decision of purchasing a new car.

Though owning a vehicle may seem to be an asset for most people, the wiser ones will tell you that it is more of a liability since it will take out some money from your pocket. You have to allot certain budget not just for gas, but also for car maintenance. Now, I am taking a look at some car insurance reviews since I will also be needing to get one. It will cost me more once some unfortunate events happen.

Right now, I am just trying to enjoy what we are blessed with. I have been learning a lot during my whole time to trying to study financial literacy. I know I’ll be learning more.

need to get one…

I am planning to get a life insurance. Why? Because of the very reason that life can be so mysteriously unpredictable. I do not want my kids to suffer in the event of my misfortune. I do not want to sound so pessimistic, but it’s the reality of life. You can experience a complete turnabout in just a wink of an eye. It really pays to be secure and prepared all the time.

There were a lot of hesitations before I finally decided to get a life insurance for myself. But since the future of my kids has been my utmost priority, I do not want to gamble. I have also convinced my husband to get one for himself.

I have heard a lot of people who regret making mistakes and the ones who are greatly affected are their kids. If only they invested in a good life insurance, they wouldn’t have so much regrets in life. Since they were already old, they do not have the chance to get back again. I hope this will not be the case for us, but things can be so inevitable.

in pain

I just received a message from a relative that my uncle is currently battling with cancer. I was saddened by the news, although I was not so shocked anymore because I was really suspecting that he was suffering from a terrible disease. The last time I saw him, he looked so different. He was so pale. He was trying to hide it though.

Now, the relatives are asking for help for the treatment. It will surely be so costly, and so they are trying to solicit financial assistance. If only they could afford something like the NC short term health insurance, then this would not be terribly difficult for everyone.

I pray hard that my uncle will be spared from all the pain. My own mother went through the same thing, and I have experienced the agony of witnessing your parent going through a hard time, but you cannot do anything about it. I know the family will be able to survive this challenge we are all facing. With God’s grace, we will all get by.

new online business

I have attended the Money Summit last week, and my eyes were opened to a lot of income-generating opportunities.

I have always wanted to get rich. But I do not want to work so hard. Not that I am lazy. I just know that I do not have to kill myself by spending long hours at work just to earn money. I do not have to work hard, rather I have to work smart. I do not have to work for money, my money has to work for me.

Then the realization set in.. that I have lost a lot of time, money, resources trying to work hard to earn a living.

I have been brewing a business plan. I want to sell some items on ebay which I can source from a wholesale distributor. I hope I can get a good deal with them so I can start my ebay project as soon as I get the hang of the whole system. I have heard a lot of Filipinos who have become ebay power sellers. And if they were able to do it, I am positive that I also can. :)

my niece…

I have never been an adventurous person, unlike my niece who is always trying to find an exciting and risky thing to do. I can still recall how she told me when she was still 5 years old that she wanted to be an equestrienne, and she was asking me to give her horse tack for her birthday. I just laughed it off, since she was always like that.

I have always been so proud of my niece who is never afraid to do what she wants. I hope that she carried that with her as she grows through life. There will be a lot of challenges that she has to battle with all by herself.

Now, she is one of the persons who continuously cheers me up. :)

first visit

It was the kids’ first time to visit their second cousins in Laguna! At first, they were not as excited since they just wanted to go to Jollibee. Even if I told them that they would be meeting their cousins whom they can play with, they were still screaming and insisting that we go somewhere else.

When we arrived at my cousins’ house, the very first thing I noticed was their patio furniture. I couldn’t help but feel envious. At that instant, I told myself that I would be working even harder to give my family that kind of home. It was just so relaxing and comfortable. It felt like every part of it really has a sentimental value to the family.

The kids had a great time playing with their cousins. They were too busy playing with all the toys and eating sweets offered by their tita. It was a joy seeing that our kids have turned out to be good friends. We promised each other that we would try our best to take time to do bonding activities so that the kids would be closer to each other.

weight loss pills that work

Looking for weight loss pills that work? My brother is selling some. :) I swear they work! After a couple of days, I was so delighted to see on the weighing scale that I have already lost 2 kilograms effortlessly! This is surely for those people who are lazy to do exercises and undisciplined to follow a diet plan.

But is that for me?

After a few pills, I have stopped. Simply because I feel that it’s not right for me. I was having sleepless nights, and people could notice the dark circles in my eyes.

But some people who have already taken this said that they were not having any negative side effects. Maybe the only thing they felt was the decrease in appetite which was what they wanted anyway. :)

how to keep your kids healthy

why_australis_happy_kidsThis is a very fast-paced generation! Everyone seems to be looking for an instant gratification, no one wants to wait, and people seem to keep on chasing for whatever.

Having this kind of way of life, people seem to take their health for granted in exchange of the time to accomplish the things they have to. And sadly, most parents do not have the luxury of time to really check on their kids’ well-being.

It is essential for us to go back to the basics when it comes to nurturing our precious ones’ health, growth and development.

So how do you keep your kids healthy? There are really so many ways, but I just want to share some things that I do with my own bundles of joy.

First, I make sure that they eat the right types of food. At their age, it’s natural for them to be picky-eaters. I am glad that I was given the chance to stay with them during their younger years, and so I was able to establish the right eating habits and choices. They are very used to fruits and veggies. But it’s harder now that they have already discovered junk foods and how ‘tasty’ they are. Moderation is always the key.

I let them take natural vitamins to increase their appetite and boost their immune system. It is very vital for promoting growth especially at their age.

Kids also need ample time to rest and sleep. They are very active during the whole day, and enough rest will give them the energy they need to perform all their activities. They will be going to school next month, and we have to establish new routines and schedule to accommodate all their activities and leaving sufficient time to rest.
